What we collect

  • Account info: email, password (hashed), display name, age, city, bio, photo.
  • Identity documents: a photo of your government ID and a selfie, used only for manual verification.
  • Family links: invite codes you create or redeem to connect with adult children / parents.
  • Activity: profiles you view, like, pass on, and message; matches; subscription status.
  • Payments: handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number.
  • Device info: standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

How we use it

  • To verify your identity and age (55+ for parents).
  • To show your profile to other verified members in your city.
  • To enable family helpers you've linked to suggest matches and review safety signals.
  • To process subscription payments and prevent fraud.
  • To investigate reports of abuse, scams, or policy violations.
  • To send transactional emails (matches, verification status, billing).

Who sees what

Other members in your city can see your display name, age, city, bio, and photo once you're verified. Linked adult children see your matches and the "Group" chat thread for each match. They cannot see your private one-to-one thread with a match, your password, your billing information, or your ID documents. Our review team sees ID documents only during the verification window.

How long we keep it

  • Profile & messages: until you delete your account.
  • ID verification photos: up to 90 days after submission, then deleted.
  • Server logs: 90 days.
  • Payment records: as required by tax/accounting law (typically 7 years).

Your rights

You can access, correct, or permanently delete your data at any time from your Profile page. If you're in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA — including the right to request a copy of your data and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Security

We encrypt data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. ID photos are stored in a private bucket accessible only to you and our review team.

Third parties

We share data only with service providers needed to run the product: hosting, email delivery, payment processing (Stripe), and identity/background checks (when you opt in). We do not sell personal data to advertisers — our revenue comes from memberships, not ads.
